A quote follow-up script for the phone
Who you are, which job, one question, then stop talking. "Hi Sam, it's Pat from Smith's Garage about the brake quote on the Golf. Did you want to go ahead with that?"
The call is the strongest follow-up and the one nobody makes, because it takes a person, a quiet minute and a bit of nerve. When you do make it, keep it to one question and let the silence do the work.
If they say yes, book it there and then. If they say they are getting other prices, ask when they expect to decide and say you will check back then. If they say no, thank them and ask what swung it; you will learn more in that sentence than in a year of guessing.
The honest answer for most small firms is that the calls do not get made. Let the text and email go automatically, and ring only the customers who tap Call me. That is a call that is wanted.
